Bonfire Night Outfit Inspiration

It’s just around the corner now - the foggy breath in the air, the smell of sparklers, the taste of mulled wine, the fireworks, coming home smelling of a bonfire.

It’s bonfire night time!

This is one of my favourite events of the year - an excellent chance to catch up with friends whilst upholding seemingly ridiculous traditions, and just all round feeling incredibly cosy and whimsical.

It is also always seemingly one of the coldest events of the year. With the sun dipping beyond the horizon so much earlier now, it’s a long couple of hours standing outside in that brisk November night-time air.

So, how do we stay stylish in the cold? I’m here to help.

Thankfully, just this week we released a range of vintage coats and jackets to keep you all warm, and I’ve created some outfit inspiration mood boards inspired by three of the pieces.

Look One:

For the first look, I’ve taken one of my personal favourite new vintage coats from this week’s drop - the Olive Suede Jacket.

This is a beautiful and versatile jacket in a stunning shade of olive green, and is the perfect base piece.

The great thing about olive green is that it looks great with plenty of different colours, but here I’ve decided to pair it with black, and a tiny splash of red.

I’ve gone with one of our brand new Velvet Venus Maxi Skirts in Black Dahlia for the bottoms, and our vintage Liquorice Stripe turtleneck knit jumper for the ultimate cosiness.

I’ve finished it all off with a bunch of silver and black accessories, and you’re good to go.

Look Two:

The second outfit I’ve curated here started with another of our new coats - the Highlands Tartan Jacket.

A truly timeless piece, and extremely autumnal in its thick faux fur, and deep navy tartan print. Immediately I knew it had to be paired with tan/orange to warm the look up a little.

I’ve paired the jacket with one of our deeply underrated Clover Dresses as a base layer, and have popped in one of our vintage knit jumpers in Mulled Orange for a pop of colour.

I have then accessorised with plenty of gold, a warm tan vintage leather bag, and as a final touch, a vintage sari headscarf in Deep Blues. Feel free to swap this out for your favourite beanie if it’s too cold!

Pop on your favourite boots and your look is complete!

Look Three:

This final jacket I started with for this look had everyone in the office’s eyes on her! So if you like this blazer, fair warning, you might want to grab her before she’s gone.

It’s the Witches Purple Velvet blazer of course!

Purple is perfect for styling at this time of year, especially when paired with an earthy sage green, so I picked out the Rosemary Green vintage knit turtleneck for added warmth to ground the outfit.

Next, I chose one of our many vintage denim skirts, and popped in a bunch of silver jewellery to tie the purple tones back in.

I accessorised with one of the biggest hidden gems in our catalogue - the vintage Old School Satchel, and matched this deep brown leather with some biker boots for some added edge.

I hope these looks have managed to inspire you with what to put together this Bonfire Night! Stay safe out there.

Until next time...
