If you’ve been around on social media at all recently, you may have noticed a recent trend of putting together outfits inspired by different colour combinations.
Here at All About Audrey, we’ve taken a note of this.
It’s a really fun and unique challenge to take visually pleasing combinations of Pantone colours, and make cohesive, colour-blocking looks from them.
I’ve taken some time to scroll through the seemingly endless colour library, and have created some combos I’m personally feeling very drawn to this Autumn season! I then trawled through our long, extensive catalogue of beautiful, stand-out pieces currently available on our website, and put together some outfit inspirations for you all.
Combination trio #1: Space Cherry, Floaty Blue & Seal Brown
This selection of colours is so incredibly visually appealing to me, and feels like a classic, timeless combination to take wardrobe inspiration from. I love the balancing of the cool blue tone, with the rich, deep feeling of the dark red and ashy brown.
These three outfits I’ve put together here are just an example of the endless ways you could style these colours.
The main stand-outs for me: Our Madonna Top in Confessions Red - this is the perfect rich, deep shade of red, and the long billowing sheer sleeves bring an element of drama and passion to any look.
Secondly, the Pisces Skirt in Tuscan Brown is a perfect match to the ashy brown tone, and is the perfect base piece for any Autumnal look.
A personal favourite of mine, and where our needed pop of blue comes in, is our Taylor Curtain Top. These beautiful one-of-a-kind crop tops are upcycled entirely from vintage fabrics, and the variation I’ve chosen here to match the cerulean tone is the ‘Slate Blue & Pink Floral’.
As you can also see here, if you don’t have the exact shade of the colour you’re inspired by in your clothes, there’s no need to fret!
As an example, in the third outfit here, to add in that cool shade of brown, I’ve accessorised with one of our vintage leather satchel bags. The same goes for the flower clip I’ve accessorised with in outfit two - these are the perfect little finishing touches of colour to any look!
Combination trio #2: Violet Dusk, Cappuccino Foam & Bright Chartreuse
Out of all of the colour combinations, this one (in my humble opinion) is the most feminine and interesting.
People have been pairing purple and green together seemingly since the beginning of time, but adding in a neutral shade of cream to balance things out adds a layer of class and sophistication.
My absolute stand-outs from this moodboard are the Venus Top in Caterpillar Green, the Catherine Blouse in Storybook Purple, and our newest favourite, the Sadie Blouse in Anthology White.
There is a really fairy-like quality to all of these looks, each with a cropped base top, a flowing skirt, and whimsical accessories to match.
Another crucial tip here, is that you can always pop in an extra touch of colour with a coat! Our Fleetwood Coat in Silver Springs Lilac here is a perfect example of this - the look was already beautiful on its own, but popping in that final touch of purple truly takes it to new heights.
Combination trio #3: Aquarelle, Beige & Apricot
This trio of tones simply screams 70s to me. Long, hazy days on the beach, Fleetwood Mac or Abba blasting on the radio, the wind in your hair.
It’s a combination that’s rather unique and interesting, and yet seems so natural and effortless at the same time - like a warm orange sunset on a summer ocean.
My favourite pieces here to call attention to are the Madonna Top in Lucky Star Blue, the Venus Top in Golden Sands, and the River Folklore Floral Skirt in Maple Orange. Each item matches the specific colours so perfectly!
There’s a stunning, vibrant harmony of tones in each of these three outfits that feels so effortlessly cool and special.
Again, I’ve used the natural colour of a turquoise stone to accessorise here, of which we have many examples currently available on our website!
Combination trio #4: Beet Red, Pastel Yellow & Neon Navy
The fourth and final selection of colours I’ve chosen here feel like they’re dripping in timeless elegance and class.
Almost royal in essence, the jewelled tones of the deep burgundy and navy blue are stylishly complimented by the pale butter yellow.
Again, I’ve put together three looks for your inspiration. My absolute favourite picks from these outfits are the Vintage Beaded Babydoll Top in Sicilian Lemon, the Velvet Venus Top in Panther Pink, and the Vintage Skirt in Iridescent Maroon.
These looks are so effortlessly opulent, and beautifully finished off with some shining gold accessories. It's so crazy how a simple combination of three colours can take even your most casual of outfits to a new stratosphere of style.
