There are many things to be loved about Autumn - the turning leaves, the long snug evenings indoors, the pumpkin spice, Halloween. My personal favourite is, of course, the fashion.
A huge part of the appeal of Autumn is the attention given to the aesthetics of absolutely everything - with that low sun, everything, including your outfits, seems to have a golden, cosy glow to it.
The question is - which Autumn aesthetic are you?
There are plenty of different approaches to the fashion of this season, depending on how you want to express yourself. I’ve taken it upon myself this week to create some fashion mood-boards for a little inspiration.
Just as an FYI, this is in no way to try and put you into some kind of box - feel free to pick and choose different pieces of inspiration from the different look-books to best express your own individual style!

Aesthetic 1: 70s Retro
What we’re best at here at All About Audrey: 70s, 70s, 70s!
The colour tones of the fashion and aesthetics of this era fit perfectly into the Autumn season - all deep, warm oranges, reds and browns.
You think of 70s style, and one of the first things that comes to mind is those chunky, platformed boots, and fur lined Afghan style coats. Our beloved ‘Janis Coats’ fit perfectly into this energy, and are a staple piece for anybody looking to emanate the vibe of this era.

Aesthetic 2: Boho Witch
Goodbye to the days of ‘Hot Girl Summer’, it’s officially the season of the witch!
It's time for rich shades of purple, black and red, lots of textures, layering and floaty materials to get you through October.
Our new ‘Cassidy Robes’ are utterly perfect if you’re going for this look - a delicate, sheer, floaty bell sleeved full length robe with intricate floral beading, to add a touch of ethereal drama to any autumnal look.

Aesthetic 3: Cottagecore
It’s time for a little cosy whimsy.
We all know a cottagecore girly - the type of person who always prefers to stay indoors, do some baking, or some reading, or just generally stay snug for as long as humanly possible.
We have dozens of beautiful, utterly individual vintage knit jumpers available to shop now on our website, to keep you warm and effortlessly adorable this Autumn season.

Aesthetic 4: Dark Academia
Think ‘A Secret History’ by Donna Tartt, think candles everywhere, think a cosy pub in the middle of a rain storm.
This ‘Dark Academia’ aesthetic is really a wintry take on your classic preppy style, which perfectly slots into this time of year.
It’s a completely timeless way of dressing for the colder months, and requires only a few things - cool, dark tones, plaid prints and vintage leather.

Aesthetic 5: 90s Minimalist
This is currently, potentially the trendiest of the styles, but a way of dressing that can be effortlessly classy if pulled off correctly.
Current depictions of this style can be seen worn by someone like Dakota Johnson, or of course through 90s icons, such as Kate Moss or Jennifer Aniston.
Grab your favourite pair of vintage low cut jeans, a simple block print cardigan/jumper, a little bag, and you’re sorted. Throw on some slim, sleek black sunglasses if you want an extra dash of cool-girl energy.
Whichever aesthetic you most align with, I hope you have/are having an absolutely beautiful October so far!
Until next time...
